Well it happened!!!! IM ENGAGED!!!! My long time boyfriend Alec proposed to me this past weekend, and we celebrated with our closest friends and family!

My sis Jess helped plan the entire thing and the details were just incredible.

I’m still in shock .. honestly it’s been so crazy! trying to really soak it all in; I’m over the moon to be marrying my human♥︎♥︎. seriously I’ve know this man for the majority of my life and couldn’t see myself with anyone else. He is my light, and my rock. He is kind and brilliant and truly a gem. He’s everything I could have ever dreamed up and so much more!

ENGAGEMENT STORY :

Alec and I met in our high school Spanish class back in 2011. Alec was the blonde hair, blue eyed heart throb new to school and I couldn’t resist his dreamy smile and charm. He asked me to homecoming and the rest is history.

Fast forward to February 15, 2020; he took me out for a belated Valentine’s Day date on the waterway in the town we grew up in. We went to a gorgeous bar and had amazing drinks (I got a mezcal cocktail and he got a brown butter bourbon on the rocks). Shoutout to Tris, they made the yummiest drinks and the vibe of the restaurant was so rad! We chatted and soon it was time to head over to our dinner reservations.

**alec told me after the proposal that he spilled to the elder couple sitting next to us that he was going to ask me to marry him in 10 minutes;** no wonder they had the biggest smiles on their faces as they wished us a happy rest of the evening!

We started walking back to the car, but Alec wanted to take a walk on the waterway … I agreed reluctantly because I was cold haha.

We walked for a bit and I kept trying to make conversation and I swear … everything I said Alec replied with one word. … we NEVER have awkward moments and I kept thinking how strange it was that it was so hard to hold a conversation with him!

We rounded a corner and he led me into this secret garden off the waterway. Me being me, I really was obssessed with the coy fish and wanted to feed them LOLOL.. Alec dragged me away and I was sort of sad … (usually he lets me be weird)….

As I looked up …. I saw lots of red rose petals and candles. They lined the bridge over the pond.

I squeezed Alecs hand and looked at him in awe. He led me to the center of the bridge and he started tearing. Immediately He took my hands and I said “wait can we take a breather o my gosh o my gosh….” In tears and down on one knee , he told me that he had loved me since he was 15. He said he’d never been more sure of anything in his whole life and that he always dreamed of me in this moment. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

Over the moon, I just kept saying “yes, yes, yes, yes!!” My high school sweetheart, my soulmate, my human. Lots of hugging and kissing and me saying “are you serious?!” followed.

After we took some photos, we went to Truluck’s and had a beautiful (but slightly rushed) dinner. It was honestly such a dream. We overlooked the waterway and had champagne and wine.

Alec told me we were going to see my parents at 7 and that we couldn’t be late because they were excited to see us! Little did I know my house was full out decorated, and all our fam and friends had come over!

We opened the door and were greeted by a huge “congrats!!!” Confetti showered us as we kissed ♥︎( it was for sure a movie moment). Ugh.

We spent the evening surrounded by family and friends. We took so many pictures and chatted about the special evening. My sister Jessie decorates our house in the cutest way. Pictures to follow!!!! Ahhhh.
